Submitting report card grades for the non-gradebook user

This tutorial will guide the teacher who does not use the eSchoolPLUS gradebook to record assignment grades through the process of entering report card grades. You use some other method of maintaining your gradebook and will use eSchoolPLUS to submit report card grades.

Unlike PowerGrade, the district's previous gradebook system, you do not have to create a category or assignment to enter report card grades.

1. Login to the eSchoolPLUS gradebook.

2. Look for the RC option next to the desired class. Click RC next to the class to enter report card grades. NOTE: A green check mark next to a class indicates that grades have already been entered for the current reporting period. You may modify report card grades at any time prior to your school's deadline.

3. The "Enter Report Cards" window allows for the entry of report card grades as well as comments. The window also provides:
-attendance information via the far-right hand column.
-space to enter three pre-written comments. Note that you cannot enter a free-form comment.
-a citizenship column may be visible depending on your site's policies.

You may have to select the desired grading period from the "RC Run" drop down menu at the top of the window.

4. Begin with the "RPT" column and enter a report card grade for the first student. You have two options:
-enter an A-F, NC, CR, I or NM in the RPT column next to each student's name using the keyboard. You may move from one grade field to another by using the arrow keys on the keyboard OR
-click on the arrow to view the letter grade options for each student (below).

To use the list of grade options simply double-click on the desired grade. The grade selected will appear in the "RPT" column.

NOTE that you cannot enter a numeric (0-100) grade. You will received an error message if you have entered a grade other than A-F, CR, NC, I or NM.

5. After you have manually entered a grade the "Ovr" checkbox will be checked next to each student's name. This is normal.

6. To enter a report card comment you may either:
-enter the code for an individual comment OR
-click on the down arrow next to each comment field to view a list of comment options.

7. You may enter one comment per column (C1, C2, C3). The report cards allow for up to three comments per student.

8. The example below shows a complete set of report card grades and comment codes.

9. Once you have completed entering report card grades and desired comments click on the "Save" button located at the top and bottom of the "Enter Report Cards" window. Either "Save" button will save your grades.

10. You may click on the "My Classes" button to return to your class list. A green check mark indicates that you have successfully entered report card grades for an individual class.

Repeat steps two through nine to enter report card grades for other classes.

11. The "Summary" button generates a printable, spreadhseet-style record of your grades listed by student. Click here to learn more about this report.
