Transitioning from one grading period to the next

As you move from one grading period to another, say from R1 to R2, there are some areas of the eSchoolPLUS grade book that you should be aware of.

1. The My Classes menu- make sure that you switch to the appropriate grading period from the "RC Run" drop down menu.

2. When you switch to another grading period and visit the Scores page you will see this message. This indicates that you haven't created any assessments for the current grading period. Assessments created in previous grading periods are safe and sound. You may view them by visiting the My Classes page and switching to a previous RC Run and then clicking on the Scores button.

If you change an assignment and/or report card grade from a previous grading period you must make the change with your site's Records Clerk. Changing the grade in eSchoolPLUS WILL NOT change the transcript grade.

3. The Define Assessments page also has options related to grading period. To create and edit assessments for the current grading period make sure that you switch the Marking Period to the current Marking Period.

To view and edit previous assessments from a previous grading period you must choose the relevant Marking Period from the menu at the top of the page. This is not an issue for Categories - these apply to all grading periods.

4. Creating Assessments- you cannot create an assessment with Date Assigned in one grading period and a Date Due in another grading period. Dates Assigned and Dates Due must fall in the same grading period.
